How to Make a Light Up Mirror

Most women use our makeup mirrors on a daily basis. Have you ever wanted to create your own lighted mirror? It is not a very hard thing to do. Read on the see how easy it is to create a fun and functional lighted mirror for yourself.

Step 1  Choose the size you want your mirror to be, go to a glass store and ask for that size mirrored glass. They will cut it to any size you need.

Step 2  Go to Home Depot or Lowes and pick out some cove molding or chair rail that you like. Ask the worker the router a groove along the back near the top to hold the glass and have them cut the four sides to the lengths you need. Make sure they cut the wood at a 45 degree angle so the corners will fit together nicely.

Step 3  Pick out a two florecent lights to attach to the sides, make sure they have a plug so you do not need to run wiring.

Step 4  Nail three of the sides together leaving one end open to slide the mirror into. After the mirror is in place attach the last peice of wood.

Step 5  Attach your lights on each side with small screws. Plug it in and you are all set to go.
